Benelli Announces BKX 300 Adventure Bike For 2024

Benelli, the historic Italian motorcycle manufacturer, has once again captured the attention of adventure enthusiasts with the unveiling of their latest offering, the BKX 300. Revealed at EICMA, this entry-level adventure bike promises a thrilling riding experience with upgraded power and a sleek design. Developed with a younger generation of riders in mind, the BKX 300 combines approachable performance, versatility, and modern aesthetics.

Powerful Engine

The BKX 300 is powered by a brand-new 292.4 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine featuring a 42 mm throttle body. This engine, in Euro 5+ configuration, boasts a maximum power output of 29.2 hp at 9000 rpm and 18.1 ft-lb at 7000 rpm. The 6-speed gearbox and chain-driven timing, with a double overhead camshaft and 4 valves, contribute to a dynamic and responsive riding experience.

Enhancements in Design and Performance

The increase in displacement is accompanied by updates to thermal, ballast, and transmission components. A redesigned combustion chamber, larger intake and exhaust valves, and an improved counterbalance shaft contribute to enhanced performance and reduced vibrations. The new exhaust system, with a longer manifold and back-torque limiting slipper clutch, ensures a smoother ride and efficient power delivery.

Chassis and Suspension

The robust steel double cradle frame houses the powerful engine, providing stability and durability. The front suspension features a 41mm upside-down fork with 7.1 inches (180 mm) of travel, while the rear incorporates a pre-load adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. With a seat height of 32.9 inches (837 mm), the BKX 300 offers a comfortable and accessible riding position for a wide range of riders.

Wheels and Brakes

The adventure bike rides on 19”/17” spoked wheels, providing a perfect balance between on-road stability and off-road capability. Braking duties are handled by a single 280 mm disc with a four-piston caliper on the front and a 240 mm disc with a single-piston floating caliper on the rear. The claimed curb weight of 364 lbs (165 kg) ensures agility and maneuverability on various terrains.

Features and Availability

The BKX 300 comes equipped with a simple LCD display conveying essential data, complemented by a USB port for added convenience. The distinctive headlight with DRL adds to the bike's eye-catching design. Benelli, the second oldest Italian manufacturer, assures riders that the BKX 300 was developed at the Benelli Style Center in Pesaro, Italy, the brand's birthplace.

Anticipated Release and Future Variants

Enthusiasts worldwide can expect the BKX 300 to hit dealerships in the second half of 2024. While pricing details are yet to be released, Benelli has hinted at the possibility of launching 125 cc and 250 cc versions for specific markets. Additionally, the manufacturer has exciting plans for an off-road-oriented variant featuring a 21” front wheel, promising even more versatility for adventure seekers.
