However, the fact that they truly believe one is superior to the other demonstrates that they do not fully comprehend the relationship between torque and horsepower.
Torque is essential for an engine to do its job, which should be to produce mountains of horsepower. A certain amount of torque is required to turn the wheels of any vehicle. But it's the horsepower that makes a motorcycle scoot quickly, which is crucial when racing on a track or simply impressing your friends. As a result, horsepower and torque are equally important but for different reasons.
