Hero Xoom 160 And 125 R Launched

In a dazzling showcase at EICMA 2023, Hero MotoCorp, one of the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturers, unveiled its latest additions to the Xoom series, the Xoom 160 and the Xoom 125R scooters. The event also marked the introduction of a groundbreaking 250cc motorcycle concept and outlined the company's ambitious plans for its electric vehicle subsidiary, Vida.
Xoom 160: Power and Innovation on Two Wheels
The Hero Xoom 160, a liquid-cooled marvel, is equipped with a 156cc single-cylinder engine generating 14hp at 8,000rpm and 13.7Nm at 6,500rpm. What sets it apart is Hero's patented i3s stop-start technology, providing both efficiency and environmental consciousness. The scooter, weighing in at 141 kg, promises a dynamic riding experience with a telescopic fork/twin shock absorber suspension system and 14-inch wheels sporting dual-purpose tires.
In terms of features, the Xoom 160 doesn't disappoint. Keyless ignition, a fully digital dashboard, remote seat opening, and a distinctive twin LED headlight setup enhance its appeal. Hero has not only focused on performance but also on providing a futuristic and convenient riding experience.
Xoom 125R: Elevating the 125cc Segment
Positioned above the Xoom 110 in Hero's lineup, the Xoom 125R boasts an air-cooled, 124.6cc, single-cylinder engine producing 9.5hp and 10.14Nm. While the power output surpasses its 125cc counterparts, the scooter stands out with its fully digital dashboard featuring Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation. Sequential LED indicators, a feature reminiscent of high-end German luxury cars, add a touch of sophistication to this stylish ride.
Vida's Electrifying Future
Alongside the internal combustion engine (ICE) scooters, Hero took a significant step into the electric vehicle (EV) domain by unveiling the Vida V1 Pro e-scooter. Although mechanically identical to its current model, the Vida V1 Pro now offers a 'Coupe' variant, eliminating the rear seat for a sleeker design. Hero's commitment to the electric future extends to Europe and the UK, with distribution agreements signed in the United Kingdom, Spain, and France. The commercial operations are set to commence in mid-2024, with plans to introduce Hero's premium range of petrol motorcycles and scooters in these markets.
Under the Vida umbrella, Hero introduced the Lynx e-dirtbike concept, a lightweight marvel weighing just 82kg while delivering 15 kW (20.4 hp) of peak power. The Lynx features a 3kWh battery pack, providing an hour of exhilarating off-road riding. Additionally, Hero showcased the Acro electric bicycle designed for children, emphasizing their commitment to sustainable and diverse mobility solutions.
Hero's presence at EICMA 2023 not only showcased their commitment to innovation and performance but also underscored their dedication to a sustainable future. With the Xoom 160 and Xoom 125R leading the way, Hero is poised to redefine the two-wheeler landscape, offering riders a perfect blend of power, technology, and environmental responsibility. The electric foray with Vida and the exciting concepts presented indicate a bold and visionary future for Hero MotoCorp in the global automotive arena.
