TVS Apache RTR 310 Launched Globally!!!

TVS Motor Company recently unveiled its latest motorbike to the general public at an event held in Thailand. The event itself was very grand, and TVS made no shortage of arrangements for it to be a grand event. The motorbike is simply referred to as the TVS Apache RTR 310, and the manufacturers are calling it a “premium naked streetfighter” making it the flagship motorbike in the lineup. It is the naked version of the Apache RR 310 and shares the underpinnings with its predecessor. This motorbike is packed with lots of cool and slice-of-life features that make the riding experience smooth and enjoyable. TVS Motor Company has revealed its premium two-wheeler RTR 310, targeting the sports bike enthusiasts and freestyler rider populations in India and abroad.

Let's look at the features, design, and price of the motorbike.

TVS Apache RTR 310 Design

The most notable change is the design of the all-new Apache RTR 310. The motorbike has a very noticeable streetfighter look with a hunkered-down stance and sharp, clean lines all across. The front of the bike sports an LED headlight which is placed low on the golden upside-down fork, the handlebar is tall and wide, and the tank extensions are just big enough. The bike is bulky up front, especially when equipped with that rather large headlight pod that transitions towards a tail section that’s rather clean, all because of the number plate and indicators being `mounted on the rear tyre hugger. As clean and sleek as this design looks, there is a distinct resemblance in the overall silhouette and stance to the Ducati Streetfighter V4, the similarities are more apparent even in areas like the radiator shrouds and lower cowl.

Apache RTR 310 comes with a hyper-spec trellis frame with a light aluminium sub-frame. The frame provides the bike with a dynamic response at higher speeds and also helps in easy manoeuvrability. The frame also ensures safety with being well-built.

TVS Apache RTR 310 Performance

The all-new TVS Apache RTR 310 is powered by a 312.12 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which it borrowed from the Apache RR 310 which has its own pros and cons. The Apache engine generates a power of 35.6 PS @ 9700 rpm and a torque of 28.7 Nm @ 6650 rpm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and is capable of reaching a top speed of 150km/h and delivers acceleration figures of 0-60 km/h in 2.81 seconds and 0-100 km/h in 7.19 seconds. The bike also features a BS6 2.0-compliant fuel injection system that ensures smooth and efficient performance. The Apache RTR 310 comes with a dynamically controlled integrated high-energy ignition system.

The Apache RTR 310 engine’s 80 mm bore and 62.1 mm stroke, combined with a compression ratio of 12.17:1, result in a power-to-weight ratio of 0.15 kW/kg. It has also employed Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) which ensures proper control and responsiveness.

TVS Apache RTR 310 Suspension and Tyres

The TVS Apache RTR 310 comes with up-side-down forks in the front and a monoshock at the rear. The main frame of the bike is shared with the Apache RR 310, whereas the sub-frame is very different. While talking about the brakes, the bike has 300 mm disc brakes at the front as well as 240 mm disc brakes at the rear. The bike is also equipped with dual-channel ABS. It features a 41 mm diameter upside-down(USD) for suspension and at the rear, it is equipped with a solid die-cast aluminum swing arm that is directly hinged to a mono-shock suspension, which allows for preload adjustment to fine-tune the bike according to the rider's preference. The suspension is also suitable for stunt riding too.

The bike comes equipped with a tubeless tyre, with a front tyre of 110/70-R17 and a rear tyre of 150/60-R17. The wheel sizes at the front are 431.8 mm and 431.8 mm at the rear as well.

TVS is providing a less specialized, more adaptable solution on its 310cc platform with the Apache RTR 310. It incorporates many of the features we appreciate about the RR310 and adds many more, but it also inherits its drawbacks. After seven years, it appears that TVS and BMW must abandon this engine since it is falling behind the competition in terms of power and refinement. If you're looking for your next long-distance, do-it-all machine, this bike has some drawbacks. However, if you're looking for a stylish, thrilling city bike that's filled with gadgets and also enjoyable on a twisty road, the RTR can do it all while also tossing in some distinctive treats and bragging rights.
