TVS Ronin 225 Overview
Design
At first glance, the TVS Ronin challenges expectations with a design that defies easy categorization. It's not a cruiser, nor a typical scrambler, and certainly not a neo-retro motorcycle. Instead, it boldly fuses these disparate styles into a cohesive and striking whole.
The front end of the TVS Ronin commands attention with its distinctive features. A round headlight, housing a T-shaped LED DRL, becomes the focal point, radiating a blend of classic and modern aesthetics. Complementing this is an offset, single-pod instrument cluster that adds a touch of asymmetry to the design, breaking away from traditional symmetrical layouts. The gold USD fork not only adds a touch of luxury but also enhances the bike's road presence, making it stand out in a crowd.
The Ronin doesn't just rely on bold shapes; it's the meticulous attention to detail that sets it apart. The single-piece brown-colored seat not only adds a touch of elegance but also enhances rider comfort. The chunky fuel tank, blacked-out engine casings, and a large belly pan contribute to the muscular and robust appearance of the bike. The all-black exhaust system with a silver-colored tip on the end-can not only complement the overall color scheme but also add a touch of sportiness. Moving to the back, the TVS Ronin continues to impress with a slim LED tail-light that exudes simplicity and neatness. The deliberate minimalism in the rear design highlights the bike's commitment to a clean and uncluttered look. The 'diamond cut' alloys, slim LED indicators, and well-designed mirrors add to the overall coherence of the motorcycle's design.
This bike comes equipped with short fenders, a thick engine guard, and dual-purpose tyres, chunky USD foks, brown leather seats, and an upswept exhaust, which gives it that off-road visual. The bike comes in three variants, and each variant has two mono-tone and two triple-tone paint shades. In total, it is available in six colors: Lightning Black, Magma Red, Stargaze Black, Delta Blue, Galactic Grey, and Dawn Orange.
Performance
The TVS Ronin 225 stands out as a performance-oriented motorcycle, leveraging a robust engine and a host of advanced features to deliver an exhilarating riding experience. At its core, the bike is powered by a 225.9cc Single-Cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, Oil-Cooled, SOHC, FI engine. This engine configuration ensures potent performance, with a maximum power output of 20.4 PS at 7750 rpm and a peak torque of 19.93 Nm at 3750 rpm.
The incorporation of a 5-Speed Gearbox with Assisted Slipper Clutch enhances the overall ride, providing smooth gear transitions and improved control during downshifts. TVS Motors has strategically increased the engine displacement by adjusting the stroke, resulting in a displacement of 225.9 cc and bringing both bore and stroke dimensions to 66mm.
Notably, this engine is shared with the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, a testament to its proven performance in the TVS lineup. The 14-liter fuel tank capacity ensures an adequate range for longer rides, catering to both the urban commuter and the enthusiastic rider seeking extended adventures.
While the TVS Ronin 225 may not feature multiple riding modes, it compensates with the inclusion of urban and rain modes, allowing riders to adjust the ABS sensitivity based on varying road conditions. This adaptability enhances safety and control, especially in challenging environments.
The TVS Ronin 225 incorporates several trademark TVS features, underscoring the brand's commitment to innovation and rider convenience. Glide Through Technology (GTT) simplifies slow-speed maneuvering, making urban commuting more manageable. Adjustable levers cater to individual rider preferences, promoting a personalized and comfortable riding experience. Safety features like Side Stand Engine Cut Off and Dual-Channel ABS are standard, ensuring a secure and stable ride under diverse conditions.
Hardware
The TVS Ronin 225 is a formidable motorcycle, boasting a robust hardware setup designed to deliver a thrilling and versatile riding experience. At the core of its construction is a double cradle split synchro stiff frame, providing a solid foundation for stability and maneuverability.
To tackle diverse terrains and ensure a smooth ride, the Ronin 225 features 41mm USD forks at the front, enhancing front-end suspension performance. Complementing this, a 7-step preload adjustable mono-shock absorber takes care of the rear suspension duties, offering flexibility in adjusting the bike's setup to suit individual preferences and riding conditions.
When it comes to stopping power, the TVS Ronin 225 is equipped with a robust braking system. The front sports a 300mm disc brake, while the rear is fitted with a 240mm disc brake. Additionally, riders have the option to choose between a single or dual-channel ABS, providing enhanced safety and control during braking maneuvers.
The wheel setup contributes to both the aesthetics and functionality of the motorcycle. The TVS Ronin 225 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, giving it a sporty and modern look. The tires play a crucial role in the bike's versatility, with a 110mm wide front tire and a 130mm wide rear tire. These tubeless tires are dual-purpose, ensuring suitability for both on-road and off-road adventures.
