Vehicle Description
The Bajaj Pulsar N125 is Bajaj's fourth 125cc motorcycle in India, following the CT 125X, Freedom 125, and the iconic Pulsar 125. It’s the sixth model in the Pulsar N series and the 14th addition to the overall Pulsar lineup. The Pulsar name has held strong appeal among young riders over the past 23 years, and the N125 aims to continue this legacy, particularly among first-time motorcycle buyers, young students, and those seeking an affordable yet stylish commuter option.
With the rise in popularity of competitors like the TVS Raider and Hero Xtreme 125R, Bajaj launched the Pulsar N125 to meet the demand for a contemporary, sporty, and fuel-efficient 125cc motorcycle. Its design, performance, and features aim to satisfy both aesthetic and practical expectations.
Exterior and Design
Front and Side Profile
The Pulsar N125 has a more approachable, less aggressive appearance compared to its other N series counterparts. Key features include: Headlamp and Indicators: The headlamp features modern LED lighting, though the indicators remain halogen, as seen on the Bajaj Freedom.
Front suspension: Equipped with fully covered telescopic forks for a smoother ride.
Braking and Wheels: Both variants feature a 240mm front disc brake, paired with 17-inch alloy wheels for a minimalist look.
The rear tire size on the LED Disc BT variant is 110/80-17, while the base model uses a 100/90-17 rear tire, both providing stability without sacrificing handling. The front tire remains standard across both variants at 80/100-17.
Tank and SeatsThe bike’s side profile features striking tank shrouds similar to the larger Pulsar models. These shrouds contribute to a bulkier, more robust look while also enhancing aerodynamics. The split seats add a sporty vibe and provide ample space for both rider and pillion, though the longer seat slightly overlaps with the fuel tank, which has a capacity of 9.7 liters—adequate for daily commuting.
In terms of practicality, the Pulsar N125 retains the Kickstarter, a feature often appreciated by riders as a reliable backup in addition to the electric start. The exhaust is positioned in the underbelly, giving the bike a sleek, streamlined look.
Rear Profile
The rear end of the Pulsar N125 balances simplicity with appeal. The adjustable mono-shock rear suspension is painted red, adding a sporty accent to the bike’s profile, while the contrasting color of the grab handles offers a pop of visual interest.
The bike is available in seven color options across both variants, allowing buyers to choose a style that suits their personality.
Engine and Performance
The Pulsar N125 features an all-new 124.58cc engine developed exclusively for this model. It’s designed with a unique square bore-to-stroke ratio, maximizing performance and fuel efficiency. Key specifications include:
Power:11.58 bhp (or 12 PS), making it the most powerful in its segment.
Torque:11Nm, which is comparable to competitors like the TVS Raider and Hero Xtreme 125R.
Fuel Efficiency:Bajaj claims a fuel economy of 60 kmpl, making it an economical choice for commuters.
With a ground clearance of 198mm, the Pulsar N125 provides ample height for rough or uneven roads, enhancing its versatility as a daily commuter. The bike’s unique engine design, not shared with any other Bajaj models, sets it apart in the 125cc category.
Features and Technology
The Pulsar N125 offers a range of modern features to enhance the riding experience. The LED Disc BT variant includes several advanced features not found on the base model:
Full TFT Instrument Cluster:This digital display provides real-time information, including Bluetooth connectivity for notifications and turn-by-turn navigation.
Auto Start/Stop Assist:A feature that helps conserve fuel during idle periods, useful for stop-and-go traffic in urban settings.
The technology and features make the Pulsar N125 an appealing choice for riders who seek functionality without compromising on style or performance.
